The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team is back in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Semifinals.

The Titans entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed and advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 victory over Essex County to win Pool D in Tyler, Texas.

"We are excited to get back to the semifinals. Essex was a talented team that pushed us all the way," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "Aedon (Kyra) put in a great performance, winning the penalty and converting it and fighting all game for his team."

On Friday they will play No. 6 seed Laramie County Community College who advanced to the semifinals in a tiebreaker after falling to host Tyler Junior College. Laramie County Community College advanced due to goal differential and comes into the semifinals 16-4-1 on the season.

"Laramie will be another difficult game, they were brilliant against Cowley in their first game scoring some fantastic goals and did what they had to do against Tyler to advance," Twelvetrees said. "We know they are a different team to the one we played at the start of the regular season and their coaching staff have a done a great job beating some top teams to get here as well."

Eastern Florida State College (15-1-2) has allowed two goals in the five postseason games and Nour Moaoui and the defense has not allowed a goal in four straight games heading into the semifinals Friday at 5:30 p.m.
