Men's soccer team falls in 16th round of penalty kicks

The Southeast District Final lived up to its billing as it took 110 minutes of soccer and 16 rounds of penalty kicks to crown a winner.

In the 16th round, Louisburg College goalkeeper Justin Ennis made the save to end the game and send the Hurricanes to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.

After two overtimes the teams were tied 0-0 but both teams were accurate during the penalty kicks in the 14-13 session.

Abdoulaye Diop, Moussa Gueye, Hugo Catherine, Schimiliguen Castin and Mario Licor al scored twice in penalty kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Nour Moaoui made two big saves but after a shot went off the post and Ennis stopped another, the match continued until the 16th round.

Moaoui made the save of the game with 18 minutes left in the second half, making a diving save that was headed for the upper corner of the net.

Louisburg College played back for most of the second half and both overtimes making it hard on the Titans offense. 

The Titans are 13-1-2 on the season and will now wait to see if they are given an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament in Tyler, Texas.
