Men's soccer team plays Richard Bland in Southeast District semifinal

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team is hosting the Southeast District Tournament this weekend at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans come into the tournament as the No. 1 seed at 12-1-1 and are ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. They will play Richard Bland Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in the second semifinal of the day.

Eastern Florida State College is the Region 8 champion and comes into the tournament allowing 11 goals this season which is sixth in the nation. Sophomore goalkeeper Nour Moaoui is fifth in the nation in goals against with a 0.53 goals against percentage and has seven shutouts this season.

Richard Bland comes into the contest 16-3 on the season and has scored 90 goals this season which is fourth in the nation led by Gorka Delgado who has 24.

The Titans have met Richard Bland twice in the district tournament and are 2-0 in those meetings.

In the first semifinal, No. 2 seed Louisburg will play No. 3 seed Georgia Military. Louisburg is the Region 10 champion and are No. 8 in the NJCAA poll at 13-0. They have allowed 10 goals this season which is fifth in the nation and has six shutouts this season. 

Georgia Military is 12-4 on the season and led by Juan David Herrera who has scored 24 goals this season. The Bulldogs advanced to the Southeast District Tournament by winning the Region 17 title.

Louisburg is 1-0 this season against Georgia Military, winning 3-2 in August.
