Men's soccer team No. 1 seed, hosts Southeast District Tournament

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team is hosting the Southeast District Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans, who come into the tournament 12-1-1 overall and No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, are the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will play No. 4 seed Richard Bland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Richard Bland is 16-3 this season and lost to No. 2 seed Louisburg 3-2 in the Region 10 final on Sunday. The Titans and the Statesmen have met twice in the district tournament semifinals with the Titans winning both times, in 2016 and 2017.

Louisburg is the No. 2 seed at 13-0 overall and are No. 15 in the poll. The Hurricanes will play No. 3 seed Georgia Military in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium. Georgia Military is 11-4 on the season and receiving votes in the poll.

Last year the Titans beat Louisburg in the semifinal and Georgia Military in the final to advance to the national tournament, where they lost in the semifinals.

The winners of Friday's semifinals will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday night for a spot in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament which will be at Tyler Junior College in Texas Nov. 18-23.
