Men's soccer team back in action Sunday afternoon at home

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will be back on the field after a 16-day layoff due to Hurricane Dorian.

The fourth-ranked Titans will host Georgia Military in a rematch of last year's NJCAA Southeast District Championship on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Titans are 3-1 on the season and have outscored opponents 21-5 in those four matches. Sophomore Aedon Kyra, who scored the lone goal to send the Titans to the national tournament last year, has scored seven times this season which is tied for eighth in the nation.

"Georgia Military is a very solid team - we split last year with them so we know there is going to be a lot of emotion involved in the game," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "We are excited to get back on the pitch after the break and we have done a lot of hard work on the training ground which we needed so we feel like we are in a good place to go out and execute a good game on Sunday."

Georgia Military, who is receiving votes in the NJCAA poll, is 1-1 this season, bouncing back from an opening-season loss to No. 19 Louisburg and bounced back with a 5-0 shutout against Patrick Henry. Georgia Military will open the weekend by facing Broward at 1 p.m. Saturday at Titan Soccer Complex before playing the Titans at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Eastern Florida State College has won two of the last three meetings dating back to 2013. Admission is free to games at Titan Soccer Complex on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College.
