Men's soccer team hosts Daytona State in Region 8 Conference Tournament game

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team heads into the postseason on a roll, winning six of the past seven games.

And on Tuesday night at Titan Soccer Complex, the No. 2 seeded Titans will host conference rival Daytona State College at 7 p.m. in a Region 8 Conference playoff game.

The two teams have split this season with the Titans picking up the win last weekend at Daytona State College to lock up the No. 2 seed in the tournament. Overall, the series is tied 4-4-1 with each team winning more on the road than at home and three of the past four matchups have been one-goal games.

The Titans, who are No. 19 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, are led by Schimiliguen Castin with seven goals while Aedon Kyra and Uziel Hernandez each have six.

Daytona State College, who defeated ASA Miami in the first round of the tournament, is led by Creggton Charlton's 16 goals.

"The team has worked incredibly hard on and off the pitch this season and we are excited to host another big play off game here at Titan Soccer Complex," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said.

The winner of Tuesday night's game will advance to the Region 8 Conference Tournament Championship Game on Saturday night at Broward College. The winner on Saturday advances to the Southeast District Championship Tournament next weekend.
