Men's soccer team shuts out Spartanburg Methodist

Five different players scored as the Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team registered a big road win on Saturday.

The Titans, who improved to 5-3 on the season, bounced back from a tough couple of games to post a 5-0 victory against Spartanburg Methodist in South Carolina on Saturday.

"It was a very impressive performance," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "We worked hard as a team for our openings and showed a strong team spirit."

Sebastian Joffre opened the scoring late in the first half on an assist from Uziel Hernandez. Cedrik Hertes would make it 2-0 before halftime.

The second half was all Titans as Schimiliguen Castin, Caleb Young and Aedon Kyra all scored goals. Castin, Hertes, Marc Grifell and Tajay Reid had assists in the game for the Titans who logged their second shutout of the season.

The Titans will be back at Titan Soccer Complex on Tuesday evening against ASA Miami in a Region 8 Conference matchup at 6 p.m. Admission is free and you will be able to watch the game live online on the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
