Men's golf team places 13th at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished 13th in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Newton, Kansas.

The Titans struggled to a 312 in the final round at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

Nicholas Miller shot 3-over 75 in the final round and finished tied for 39th overall. Teammate Robert Greninger was 5-over for the tournament and was tied for 34th after shooting an 80 on Friday. Adam Vermut shot a 79 and tied for 47th overall while Brandon Boncore and Murphy Allard each shot 79 in the final round.

"It was a tough day weather wise but we just struggled the whole way," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Definitely disappointing end to the week and year as we are much better than we showed these last two rounds."

Indian Hills Community College won the tournament, shooting 285 in the final round and was 25-under for the tournament. It is their seventh national title. Jose Ramirez won the individual title after shooting under par in all four rounds, finishing 12-under.
