Men's golf team in seventh place at national tournament

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is in seventh place heading into the final round of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Newton, Kansas.

The Titans shot a 297 in the third round at Sand Creek Station Golf Course and are at 8-over for the tournament.

"It got away from us today as we got off to a good start and struggled through the last nine," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said.

Freshman Nicholas Miller shot even par 72 in the third round and is 3-over for the tournament. Teammate Robert Greninger is tied for 16th for the tournament after shooting a 2-over 74 on Thursday. The sophomore had a birdie on No. 16 to finish at 2-over. He is 3-under for the tournament.

Adam Vermut shot a 75 in the third round and is tied for 32nd for the tournament at 1-over par. Murphy Allard shot a 76 and Brandon Boncore had an 83 in the third round.

Indian Hills Community College is leading the tournament, shooting 8-under in the third round and is 22-under for the tournament.

Eastern Florida State College will tee off in the final round of the tournament on Friday.
