Men's golf team in third place at Dan York Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is in third place after the first two rounds of the Dan York Invitational in Cullman, Alabama.

The Titans shot rounds of 291 and 293 to finish with a 584 heading into Tuesday's final round. Wallace State is in first place with a 577 and Central Alabama is second with a 579.

Freshman Adam Vermut is tied for fourth after shooting rounds of 1-under 71 in both rounds to be 2-under 142.

Teammate Bryan Hernandez is tied for 17th, bouncing back from a 75 in the first round to shoot 1-under 71 in the second round. Murphy Allard is tied for 22nd at 4-over with rounds of 71 and 77, while teammate Noah Campbell is tied for 33rd at 5-over 149. Nicholas Miller is tied for 44th overall with a pair of 76s.

"We weren't sharp but took advantage of the course at times and gave it back at other times," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Tomorrow will be a good test."

The final round of the Dan York Invitational will be Tuesday morning.
