Trio of men's golfers named All-America Scholars

Three members of the Eastern Florida State College men's golf team were named 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars.

Brandon Boncore, Matt Gauntlett and John Houchin were all named to the team as the trio helped lead the Titans to a fifth-place finish in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Odessa, Texas as well as all had grade point averages over 3.20 this year. Gauntlett and Houchin have signed to attend NCAA Division I Stetson University in the Fall while Boncore plans to return to the Titans for one more year. 

Overall, 17 NJCAA athletes from eight schools earned 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 77.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
