Men's golf team in seventh at The Battle at the Shores tournament

The Eastern Florida State men's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of The Battle at the Shores at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach on Tuesday.

The Titans shot 296 and 297 as a team and is two strokes ahead of Johnson & Wales.

Sophomore Beck Fox is in eighth place overall after shooting a 70 in the second round. He sits at 1-over 143 heading into the final round on Tuesday. Teammate Josh Stern shot a pair of 74s and is tied for 27th at 6-over 148 while Tom Matthews is tied for 40th at 7-over 149. Tanner Gonzalez is tied for 54th.

"We struggled all day. The guys had a difficult time with hole locations and scoring," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Normandy Shores is a good test and we just didn't find our way around. A good round got away from Beck the last two holes of the afternoon, other than that he played solid all day."

Barry University is leading the tournament at 10-under while Lynn University is two strokes back at 8-under.

Individually, Lynn University's Agustin Errazuriz leads the tournament at 6-under with Barry's Jorge Garcia one stroke behind.

The final round will be on Wednesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
