Men's golf team heads to final round in third place

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team remained in third place after the second round of the Florida Tech Invitational at Duran Golf Club Monday.

The Titans finished strong to shoot a 6-over 294 and are 4-over heading into the final round on Tuesday.

Eastern Florida State College sophomore Beck Fox heads into the final round tied for first place individually after shooting a 2-over 74 in the second round. Teammate Thomas Matthews shot 1-under 71 to move into a tie for fifth place overall. Ben Ramos shot 2-over as well on Monday and is tied for 14th. Ryan McMillan finished with a 3-over 75.

"A good solid round by Tom and good comeback by Beck today. Ramos hung in there well and much better play from Ryan McMillan," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "The golf course played difficult in the wind and we hung in there well, but we still need to cut down on unforced errors."

Barry University leads Florida Tech by two strokes heading into Tuesday's final round at Duran Golf Club. Players are scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m.
