Men's golf finishes fourth in Coastal Alabama Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished fourth at the Coastal Alabama Invitational Sunday at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, Alabama.

The Titans shot a 303 in the final round to finish 27-over for the tournament. Wallace State edged Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the tournament title, shooting 590 as a team. Calhoun finished third.

Freshman Thomas Matthews shot a 74 in the final round and tied for fifth at 145 while sophmore Beck Fox shot 73 for the second straight round to place tied for seventh.

Ben Ramos shot a 76, Josh Yang finished with an 80 and Tanner Gonzalez shot an 82 in the final round.

"Good work by Matthews and Fox, we just lacked balance," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "The golf course was challenging in both rounds."

Wallace State's Connor Bruce won the individual title, shooting a 2-under in the final round and 5-under in the tournament.
