Men's golf team to host Titan Invitational Monday and Tuesday

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team will open the spring season by hosting the 17th annual Titan Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Suntree Country Club.

"Everyone looks forward to this event, Suntree is a marvelous host and I think Eastern Florida State College does a nice job with the event. It is a good place to start the season," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said.

The Titans come into the spring season with some confidence after winning two events in the fall. Sophomore Beck Fox finished tied for sixth in last year's event, helping the Titans finish in second place. Eastern Florida State College won the event in 2017 and has finished in the top five every year.

"We have no expectations as far as the result. I expect them all play their game, take to heart all of the hard work we have put in and don't let the emotions and the drama of the first tournament get into it," Howell said.

Among the teams competing at Suntree Country Club are three teams ranked in the top 20 in the NJCAA Division I rankings as well as some NCAA Division II and NAIA teams.

The Titan Invitational will tee off at 8 a.m. on Monday for 36 holes and then wrap up Tuesday with the final 18 holes at 8 a.m.
