Men's golf team finishes tied for fifth in Panther Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished tied for fifth in the Panther Invitational Tuesday at Duran Golf Club.

The Titans were the lone junior college team in the field and finished the final day with a 298 and was 10-over for the three days. Eastern Florida State College tied with Montevallo for fifth place.

Florida Southern, who is No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division II men's golf poll, won the event shooting 10-under as a team. The University of Barry was second and Florida Tech third.

The Titans were led by sophomore Ryan Rozic who finished in sixth place, shooting even par for the tournament. Teammate Fraser Davren was tied for 23rd.

"A good, solid week by Ryan Rozic but not enough balance from the rest of the team as we just weren't sharp," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We're close but we need to minimize mistakes and unforced errors."

Eastern Florida State College will host Lake Forest University in a match play event at Hunters Creek in Orlando March 15.
