Titan Golfers Win By 3 in Fall Finale

Eastern Florida's golf team closed a successful fall schedule on Tuesday with a three-stroke victory in the Central Alabama Fall Invitational at Willow Point in Alexander City.

The Titans won two fall tournaments, tied Florida Tech to retain the Collegiate Players Cup and finished third twice.

Michael Keymont and Brad Bawden carded 71 on Tuesday, Michael Stewart a 73, Corey Herman a 74 and Kerry Sweeney a 75 for a 36-hole total of 596. Runner-up Wallace State of Alabama shot 599.

"The guys did a good job of hanging in there all day," said Eastern Florida head coach Jamie Howell. "Wallace State hung right with us and Michael Keymont did a good job playing in the number one slot for the first time.

Keymont finished third individually.

Golf plays its championship season in the spring and hosts the NJCAA Men's Division I National Championship tournament in May at Duran Golf Club in Viera.
