Men's basketball team wins seventh straight conference game

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up their seventh straight win Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

The 19th ranked Titans defeated Indian River State College 86-69 in a Citrus Conference game as the Titans improved to 22-3 overall and 11-1 in the conference.

Chandler Watts scored seven straight points as the Titans went on a 12-2 run, taking a 32-24 lead with five minutes left in the first half. Watts finished the first half with 17 points as the Titans led 45-35 at the break.

Indian River State College hung around and got to within eight points with just under 14 minutes left. But Fredy-Salam Sylla hit a 3-pointer to get it back to double digits. Up 11, one last 9-0 run put the game away as Efe Tahmaz hit one of his two 3-pointers to give the Titans a 20-point lead.

Corey Caulker scored 10 of his 18 points in the second half and Felipe Patino, Erkins-Ford and Tahmaz each had eight points in the win.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Daytona State College for a conference battle between the top two teams in the Citrus Conference. The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Daytona State College.
