The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball used a big run to begin the second half to defeat Santa Fe College and remain unbeaten in conference play.
The 24th ranked Titans scored the first nine points in the second half and went on to defeat the Saints 77-61 to improve to 3-0 in the Citrus Conference.
Felipe Patino and Fredy-Salam Sylla opened the game by each hitting a 3-pointer and the Titans were off and running. But with four minutes left in the first half the Saints took their first lead behind Karmello Branch's big first half. The FCSAA's leading scorer had 17 of the team's 36 points in the first half but the Titans went into the locker room with the lead as Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo scored at the buzzer to give EFSC a 38-36 lead.
But the second half was all Eastern Florida State College as they would outscore the Saints 39-25.
Five players finished the game in double figures for the Titans led by Emondrek Erkins-Ford who had 18 points while Corey Caulker had 17, Patino hit four 3-pointers for 12 points, Fredy-Salam Sylla scored 11 points and Chandler Watts had 10 in the win.
Branch finished with a game-high 25 points for Santa Fe.
Eastern Florida State College (14-2, 3-0) will travel to Indian River State College on Wednesday for a Citrus Conference game at 5 p.m. The Titans will return to Titan Field House in a battle of top teams in the conference square off when Daytona State College comes to Melbourne on Saturday. The game begins after the women's basketball game around 4 p.m.
