Men's basketball team defeats Polk State at home Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team won its seventh straight Citrus Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

The No. 18 ranked Titans defeated Polk State College 95-62 to improve to 7-1 in the conference and 19-3 overall.

Eastern Florida State College scored the first nine points in the contest and led 12-2 in the first five minutes of the contest. Every time Polk State would cut the lead back to 10 points, the Titans would make a big shot. Luca Colceag had three 3-pointers in the half and Andrija Bukumirovic had 10 points as Eastern Florida State College headed to halftime, leading by 15, 46-31.

Early in the second half Polk State made a couple of shots to cut the lead to 49-39 but Matija Zuzic scored five straight points to once again to give the Titans a 15-point lead.

Four Titans had at least 10 points in the win as Owen Aquino finished with 16 points, Bukumirovic had 14, Colceag had 10 and Emondrek Erkins-Ford finished with 10 points.

Polk State College's Dominick Nelson had 17 points for the Eagles.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Florida Southwestern for a battle of the conference's top teams Wednesday night. The Titans will return to Titan Field House on Saturday against St. Petersburg College at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
