Men's basketball team heads to St. Petersburg Wednesday
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will travel to St. Petersburg Wednesday for a Citrus Conference matchup.
The No. 23 ranked Titans, who are 12-3 overall, will face St. Petersburg who is 7-7 overall and both teams are 0-1 in the conference. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. following the women's game.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the contest averaging 85.9 points per game which is fifth-best in Region 8 and is allowing just 58.5 points per game which leads Region 8.
Sophomore Owen Aquino is coming off a couple of big games for the Titans and is averaging 14.6 points and 8.6 rebounds this season. In the conference opener, Aquino had 21 points and eight rebounds. His 8.6 rebounds per game is fifth-best in Region 8.
Teammate Matija Zuzic is averaging 12.8 points and Luca Colceag is scoring 11.9 points per game this season.
St. Petersburg has four players averaging at least 10 points per game led by the duo of Akiem Nickerson and Brenden Williams who are each averaging 14.3 points while teammate Isaac Edwards is averaging 12.2 points and Justin Hicks is averaging 10.3 points per game for the Titans.
