Men's basketball team hits road for key conference game

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team heads to St. Petersburg College Wednesday for a key Central Conference game.

The Titans are in second place in the conference with two games remaining in the regular season. Eastern Florida State College heads into the matchup 9-4 in the conference and has split the first two meetings with St. Petersburg College, both games by one basket.

Eastern Florida State College needs to win at least one of the final two games to remain in second place in the conference ahead of Santa Fe College who has won three straight games.

St. Petersburg College is coming off a loss to Santa Fe College and has lost three in a row. Joshua Meo has scored at least 10 points in each of the past 16 games.

Carlin Gelin has recorded double-doubles in three of the past four games for the Titans while Andres Burney continues to lead the Titans, averaging 17.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season.

Wednesday night's game in St. Petersburg will tip off at 7:30 p.m. The Titans will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville Saturday at 4 p.m. in the team's final home game of the season.
