Men's basketball team tops Polk State on the road
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up a road win on Saturday afternoon to improve to 9-2 in the Central Conference.
The Titans, who are in second place in the conference, used a dominating inside attack to defeat Polk State College 87-79.
The duo of Andres Burney and Carlin Gelin both recorded double-doubles in the victory as Burney finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Gelin recorded his second straight double-double, recording 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Freshman Eric Parnell hit five 3-pointers to score a team-high 19 points while AJ Dixon had 17 points and eight rebounds.
George Pridgett had 30 points for Polk State College, who fell to 4-7 in the conference.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe College on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. before hosting Daytona State College Saturday afternoon in a battle of the two top teams in the conference. Saturday's game at Titan Field House will tip off at 4 p.m.
