Men's basketball team travels to Polk State for conference game

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will travel to Winter Haven for a Central Conference game against Polk State College Saturday afternoon.

The Titans head into the matchup 8-2 in the conference and are coming off a win against the Florida State College at Jacksonville on Wednesday night.

Polk State College is 4-6 in the conference and had won two in a row before Wednesday's loss to St. Petersburg College. The Eagles are 2-1 in February with wins against FSC-Jacksonville and Santa Fe College before falling to St. Petersburg.

Sophomore guard George Pridgett comes into the game averaging 18.9 points per games but has scored at least 21 points in each of the past three games including the game-winner against Santa Fe College.

Eastern Florida State College's Carlin Gelin recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Eric Parnell had 14 points in the win against the Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Saturday's game at Polk State College will begin at 2 p.m.
