Men's basketball team travels to St. Petersburg for conference game Wednesday night

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will travel to St. Petersburg for a Central Conference game on Wednesday night.

The Titans are 3-0 in the conference and in first place and are 13-5 overall and receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. Eastern Florida State College is riding a four-game win streak heading into the matchup against St. Petersburg.

Eastern Florida State College is led by the trio of Brandon Garcia, Andres Burney and Eric Parnell who are all averaging at least 13.7 points in conference play.

Garcia is averaging 17.2 points per game and hit a huge 3-pointer in the Titans victory against Daytona State College last Saturday. The sophomore is also averaging 5.2 assists per game.

Burney is averaging 16.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season while Pernell is scoring 9.8 points per game but has been hot from the 3-point line the past few games, hitting 43.5 percent of his 3-pointers in conference games.

St. Petersburg is led by the trio of Jaden Ezomo, Joshua Meo and Brenden Williams who all average at least 12.7 points per game. Ezomo is scoring 16.5 points per game while Meo is averaging 14.3 points and Williams scores 12.7 points per game this season. The team is 4-14 overall and looking for their first conference win but is 3-5 at home this season.

Wednesday night's game will begin at 7:30 p.m. in St. Petersburg.
