Men's basketball team picks up road win

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team got back on track Tuesday night at Palm Beach State College, picking up the 73-59 win.

The Titans improved to 7-2 with the victory as they scored six of the final eight points to secure the win.

Andres Burney scored 24 points in the game, 13 points coming during a 15-3 run in the first half that took a six-point lead to a 34-16 advantage.

But Palm Beach State College finished the first half on an 11-0 run to go into halftime trailing by six as the Titans led 36-30.

The Panthers continued to shoot well to open the second half and took the lead 38-36 in the first three minutes of the half.

After a timeout, the Titans got things going once again with a 9-0 run. Up three midway through the second half, Eric Parnell hit two 3-pointers to give EFSC a 10-point lead once again.

Caleb Byrd scored four points in the final couple of minutes and led the Titans with 31 points in the contest.

Eastern Florida State College will host the Jim Grimes Classic this weekend beginning Friday at 5 p.m. with Daytona State College playing South Georgia Tech. Then the Titans will take on North Florida Prep at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Daytona State College will play North Florida Prep and the Titans will face South Georgia Tech at 4 p.m.
