Men's basketball team plays for title Tuesday night

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team is one win away from clinching the Central Conference regular season title.

The Titans can win the Central Conference with a win and a Polk State College loss. If Santa Fe beats Polk State College then both the Saints and Titans will be crowned conference championship with identical conference records.

Eastern Florida State College comes into Tuesday night's final regular season game 21-8 overall and 11-3 in the Central Conference and will host St. Petersburg at 7:30 p.m. in a game broadcast live on WEFS-TV.

It will also be Sophomore Night as the men's basketball team will honor eight players after Tuesday night's game. Brody Boyer, Vlad Salaridze, Roberts Berze, Justin Reid, Lovre Zaja, Markus Harding, Reggie Hill and Rron Ukaj will all play their final game at Titan Field House Tuesday night.

And it is a big one with so much at stake. The Titans have won the previous two meetings with St. Petersburg College, but have won three of the last four games. Zane Nelson has been really good for St. Petersburg, averaging 15.9 points in conference games this season and 13.7 overall.

Tuesday night's game will tip off around 7:30 p.m. and be broadcast live on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
