Men's basketball team will compete in Florida vs Georgia tournament this week

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will head to Bradenton for the Thanksgiving holiday for the Florida vs. Georgia JUCO Basketball Classic at the State College of Florida-Manatee. 

The seventh-ranked Titans will open the tournament on Thanksgiving Day, playing unbeaten Albany Technical College at noon. Albany Tech comes into the week 5-0 overall and is averaging 92.8 points per game this season. The team has four players averaging 14 points per game as John Egbuta is averaging 15 points per game while Jalen Nesmith, Khalyl Simmons and Cam Singletary are each averaging 14 points per game.

Then on Friday the men's team will play No. 17 South Georgia Technical College at 3 p.m. at the State College of Florida-Manatee. The Jets are 6-0 this season and come in averaging 103 points per game as two players are averaging over 20 points per game. Marvin McGhee comes into the week as the fourth-leading scorer in the nation, averaging 25.5 points per game while Will Johnston is scoring 21.5 points as five guys are averaging at least 11 points per game. 

The Titans will wrap up the tournament Saturday against Georgia Highlands College at 4 p.m. The Chargers are 3-3 on the season and are looking to snap a three-game losing streak in Bradenton. Jayvis Harvey leads the way with 14 points per game.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the tournament 5-1 as three players are averaging at least 11 points per game as Derrick Butler is scoring 14.5 points per game while Reggie Hill is averaging 12.5 points and Roberts Berze is scoring 11.7 points.

The Titans will be back at Titan Field House Dec. 1 against ASA College.
