Six men's basketball players make all-conference team, Osifo named to all-region team

Eastern Florida State College men's basketball player Osayi Osifo was named to the All-Region first team on Thursday.

The sophomore from McKinney, Texas is averaging 11.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game with seven double-doubles for the Titans.

Osifo was also named to the Mid-Florida Conference first team.

"It means a lot to me and my teammates to know that we have some good players capable of being named to such a high honor," Osifo said. "My season has been great, I have so many great memories. Our team has meshed together and we have gotten better throughout the year. We still have a lot of goals ahead of us."

Freshman guard Brian Dugazon was also named to the all-conference first team. The Lauderdale Lakes native is averaged 13.3 points and 4.9 assists in conference games this season.

Sophomores Nick Alves, Jonathan Ned, Johnny Bernard and Calvin Poulina were all named to the conference second team.

"What an honor for our guys. For Osayi to be named not only first team all conference but also first team all region is a testament to his incredible hard work ethic and talent," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "Brian has had such an incredible freshman year and to make first team all-conference with Osai is amazing. And then to get four players on the second team is incredible. So proud of Nick, Jonathan, Johnny and Calvin. Congratulations to all six guys on an outstanding honor."

The Titans finished second in the Mid-Florida Conference and will host a play-in game Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Titan Field House. Admission is free to the game.
