Men's basketball team tops Daytona State on the road

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up its third straight win Wednesday night, defeating Daytona State College in a Mid-Florida Conference road game.

Freshman guard Brian Dugazon hit both free throws with three seconds remaining to clinch the 61-58 win for the Titans. With the win Eastern Florida State College improves to 16-9 overall and tied for first place in the Mid-Florida Conference at 5-2.

The game was close throughout as Daytona State College went into halftime leading 38-37 but the Titans would take a nine-point lead with 2:25 remaining on a Nick Alves slam dunk. But Daytona cut it to a basket with under a minute left. But a big rebound by Osayi Osifo and later two big free throws by Dugazon clinched the win for the Titans.

Dugazon led the offensive attack with 17 points while Jonathan Ned came off the bench to scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds.

The Titans will host Santa Fe College Saturday at 4 p.m. in a Mid-Florida Conference matchup at Titan Field House.
