Men's basketball team opens conference season Saturday at home

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team opens the Mid-Florida Conference season Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans, who have won the conference title the past two seasons, will host Florida State College of Jacksonville at 4 p.m.

FSC-Jacksonville comes into the game 4-10 on the season and have lost five in a row while the Titans are 11-6 and have won nine of the past 10. Eastern Florida State College has won the past nine games in the series with FSC-Jacksonville's last win coming Nov. 10, 2010.

Saturday's game will be a battle of two of the top defenses in the state as the Titans allow 63.6 points per game and FSC-Jacksonville allows 70.8 points.

Sophomore Osayi Osifo leads the Titans, averaging 11.6 points and seven rebounds per game while FSC-Jacksonville is led by the duo of Johnny Brown and Evan Busby who are averaging 11 and 10 respectively this season.
