Men's basketball team posts win against Snow College in Utah tourney

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team defeated host Snow College 78-54 in the Snow College Invitational Thursday night in Ephraim, Utah.

Sophomore Johnny Bernard got things going early along with Mikal Starks to keep the game tied throughout the first half and then went on a 14-0 run in a six-minute span to take a 34-20 lead. They would head to halftime up 35-22.

The Titans came out in the second half with a 3-pointer and another basket and never looked back, posting the 24-point win.

Bernard led the team with 18 points and eight rebounds while Jonathan Ned had 14 points, Amar Tiganj had 12 on four 3-pointers and Starks finished with 10 for the Titans who are now 2-3 on the season.

The Titans will play No. 21 Salt Lake Community College Saturday at 7 p.m. in the second game of the three-day tournament in Utah.
