Nick Stampley named to all-tournament team

Eastern Florida State College's Nick Stampley was named to the NJCAA Division I National Championship all-tournament team on Saturday.

The sophomore forward from Pompano Beach started all three games in the tournament for the Titans, averaging nine points and seven rebounds per game in the tournament.

Eastern Florida State College reached the Elite Eight of the tournament for the third straight season, one of only four teams in the nation to do that. The Titans went 2-1 at Hutchinson, losing to defending national champion South Plains 82-74 in the quarterfinals.

For the season, Stampley averaged 10 points and seven rebounds per game and was named to the Mid-Florida Conference first team.

Vincennes University won the national championship on Saturday, defeating Ranger College in the final 87-77.
