Men's basketball team dominates FSC Jacksonville

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team used some tough defense to dominate the Florida State College at Jacksonville Wednesday night at Titan Field House.

The Titans held the Blue Wave to 38 points which is the best defensive performance in at least five seasons for the Titans in a 75-38 win.

Eastern Florida State College trailed early in the game but took the lead for good almost 12 minutes into the game when freshman Jonathan Ned hit a 3-pointer. It also began an 18-0 run for the Titans who went into halftime with a 37-20 lead.

The second half saw the Titans come out and hold FSC Jacksonville to two points for almost 10 minutes, extending the lead to 48-22.

Freshman Osayi Osifo and Ayo Dada each finished with 13 points while Ned and Nick Stampley each finished with 10 points.

The Titans, who have won three straight and are now 18-6 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-Florida Conference, will travel to Daytona State College on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest. Eastern Florida State College will be back at Titan Field House next Wednesday night, hosting Santa Fe at 7:30 p.m.
