Men's basketball team beats No. 1 Northwest Florida

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team defeated the No. 1 team in the country Saturday night at the Florida JUCO Shootout at the College of Central Florida in Ocala.
 
The Titans improves to 11-3 with the 87-73 victory over Northwest Florida State College. Eastern Florida State College has now beaten Northwest Florida three straight times and now lead series 3-2 in the past five seasons.
 
"Just absolutely thrilled for our guys!!! We had an amazing opportunity tonight, and our guys really took advantage of it," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "We have been through so much adversity; a win like this is so incredibly special for everyone in the program. Now we need to turn our attention to a very good Broward team tomorrow."
 
Freshman Jonathan Ned scores a team-high 18 points while Ayo Dada had 16, Jalen Warren had 15 and Nick Stampley finished with 14 points in the win.
 
The Titans will play Broward College on Sunday afternoon in the Florida JUCO Shootout. Eastern Florida State College has won the past 14 meetings against Broward including an 87-76 win earlier this season at the Jim Grimes Classic.
