Men's basketball team rallies past Miami Dade

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team hit big shots down the stretch to defeat Miami Dade 102-90 on the road Wednesday night.

The Titans trailed 50-49 at the half but took the lead a minute into the second half and built a five-point lead with nine minutes left.

Miami Dade cut the lead to two but Ayo Dada, Junior Madut and Nathanael Jack hit big 3-pointers down the stretch to keep the Titans out front and went 9-for-12 from the free throw line in the final minutes to clinch the win and improve to 4-0.

"Miami Dade is an outstanding ball club and one of the best teams in the state for a reason, hat goes off to coach Ledoux for the fantastic job he did preparing his club," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "I am just so proud that our guys competed through the adversity and found a way! This is a special group of guys."

Sophomore Jalen Warren finished with a team-high 20 points, 12 coming in the first half. Madut and freshman Jonathan Ned each had 15 points while Dada had 12 and Nick Stampley added 10.

The Titans will be back at Titan Field House on Saturday afternoon against Polk State College at 2 p.m. and admission is free.
