Titans excel on first day of JA32 event
The five Eastern Florida State College men's basketball players excelled during the JA32 event at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College Thursday.
Head coach Jeremy Shulman and his staff coached the Blue squad and went 1-1 on the first day, winning the final game of the day, hitting a shot in the final 30 seconds to pick up the 95-93 win. Titan guard Nathanael Jack hit eight 3-pointers and finished with 26 points for the White team.
Jack had 17 points in the first game of the day, a win over the Black team and Titans Tyler Chisom, Junior Madut and Ilija Stefanovic.
Jack's teammate Quenton Jackson had the best performance of the day, scoring 31 points on 11-of-13 shooting. Chisom finished with 21 points, while Stefanovic had six and Madut finished with four points in the loss.
Madut helped the Black team pick up a win over the Red team 99-82 in the third game of the day, scoring 16 points. Chisom added 11 points and Stefanovic made a free throw before leaving to take a test for his summer class. Warren had 13 points for the Red team who beat the Blue team earlier in the day 102-75.
The four teams will play one more game on Friday morning at Titan Field House. Shulman's Blue squad will face the Black team with Chilsom, Madut and Stefanovic while Warren and the Red team will face Jack and the White team at 10 a.m. Admission is free for fans.
