Nuga leads men's basketball team past Daytona State College
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team is one win away from clinching its first Mid-Florida Conference title after defeating Daytona State College Wednesday night.
The Titans led from start to finish, beating Daytona State College for the third time this year 73-57.
Michael Nuga led the attack with 21 points, finishing with 20 points or better for the fourth straight game while Nathanael Jack came off the bench to finish with 12 points.
The Titans outrebounded the Falcons 38-18 led by Shaq Carter's nine while Eli Abaev had eight in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe on Saturday in the regular-season finale. The Titans just need a win to lock up the Mid-Florida Conference title as they hold a one-game lead on the College of Central Florida, who finish the season 9-3 in the conference.
The Titans head into the final game 9-2in the Mid-Florida Conference and 26-3 overall and have already clinched a spot in the FCSAA State Tournament March 7-10 in Ocala.
