Men's basketball team posts win on Sophomore Night

It is only fitting that a sophomore shined the brightest Saturday for the Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team on Sophomore Night at Titan Field House.

Michael Nuga scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Titans past Florida State College at Jacksonville 87-55 in his final game at Titan Field House. Nuga has now scored 20 or more points in three straight games.

The Titans jumped out to a 10-0 run in the first two minutes of the game and led by 20 points at the half.

Sophomore Ahmed Ali finished with 13 points while Eli Abaev, Nathanael Jack and Jalen Warren all had 11 points in the win.

After the game, head coach Jeremy Shulman talked about this talented sophomore class as he recognized Nuga, Ali, Abaev, Shaq Carter, Ezekiel Balogun, Silas Adheke, Shaq Seville and Kaleel Solomon. He talked about what each has brought to the program and gave them framed jerseys bearing their number.

The Titans will try and clinch their first Mid-Florida Conference title on the road with two games remaining. They will travel to Daytona State College on Wednesday night before heading to Gainesville to play Santa Fe in the final game of the regular season. The Titans have won five straight Southern Conference titles before moving to the Mid-Florida Conference this season.
