Men's basketball team falls to College of Central Florida

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team lost a tough battle to the College of Central Florida 92-86 Wednesday night at Titan Field House.

The Titans got off to a fast start behind Silas Adheke who had 10 of his 14 points in a three minute span of the first half to give  Eastern Florida State College a 25-19 lead. The Titans would lead at halftime, 43-32.

That lead would stretch to 14 points before the College of Central Florida went on an 18-4 run to tie the game 54-54 with 12:51 remaining.

The Titans went on another run to stretch the lead back to as many as eight but the College of Central Florida hit the big shots down the stretch to come out with the win.

Ahmed Ali led the Titans with 20 points while Jalen Warren and Adheke each had 14. Michael Nuga finished with 10 points as the Titans fell to 20-3 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-Florida Conference.

The College of Central Florida is now 5-0 in the conference and was led by Van Turner Jr. who had 23 points.

The Titans will hit the road next Wednesday for a conference matchup with the Florida State College at Jacksonville. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. before returning to Titan Field House Feb. 3 for a game with Daytona State College.
