The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team won its season opener in Indiana, defeating Shawnee Community College 80-58 in the Kiwanis Classic at Vincennes University.
The No. 5-ranked Titans took a 17-point lead into halftime and never looked back in the opener as sophomore point guard Ahmed Ali scored 21 points, six assists and had five rebounds in the game. Teammate Junior Madut had 19 points and Nathaniel Jack added 14 in their Titans debut. Shaq Carter finished with nine points and 11 rebounds for the 1-0 Titans.
Eastern Florida State College will face No. 4 Vincennes University in the final game of the tournament Saturday night.
