Kareem Brewton named Region 8 men's basketball player of the week

Eastern Florida State College's Kareem Brewton was named the Region 8 men's basketball player of the week for the third time this season on Tuesday.

Brewton scored a career-high 38 points, had 13 assists and nine rebounds in his final game at Titan Field House, leading the Titans to a 117-86 victory over Miami Dade.

For the season, the sophomore from Claxton, Ga. is averaging 20.9 points per game which is second in Region 8.

Brewton and the Titans will travel to Ocala March 9-11 to compete in the Region 8 Men's Basketball Championship tournament. The winner will advance to the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
