Titan men's basketball team tops ASA Miami, closes in on conference title

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team is one win away from a record fifth straight Southern Conference championship.

The Titans improved to 11-3 in the conference with an 82-73 victory over ASA Miami on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Kaleel Solomon had a career-high 19 points to lead the Titans in scoring.

"So proud of Kaleel tonight. He is such a hard worker and so coachable, he just keeps getting better and better. He is maturing right before our eyes," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said.

Shaq Carter had his third straight double-digit game, scoring 15 points while Kareem Brewton finished with 12 and Ahmed Ali had 11 in the win.

The Titans will host Miami Dade on Tuesday night in the regular-season finale at 7 p.m. It will be Sophomore Night at Titan Field House as the team will honor the three sophomores. The game will be live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast
