Titan men's basketball team finishes road trip unbeaten

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team finished the Monroe Classic unbeaten with a tough 65-55 win over host Monroe College.

The Titans, who are now 9-1 on the season, struggled a bit shooting the ball but managed to play good defense, holding its second straight opponent to under 60 points.

"Tonight we were truly tested in a tough, gutty way on the road in a hostile environment. And it showed the growth of our team that we could fight through the adversity and find a way to win," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "We played tough and we played together. This is a fun team to coach and I could not be more proud of our effort and toughness."

Once again Kareem Brewton led the scoring attack with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Teammate Austin Awad finished with 14 points and nine rebounds while Ahmed Ali had 13. Shaq Carter also scored in double figures with 10 points and five rebounds.

The Titans will be back at Titan Field House Wednesday night, hosting TAAG Academy at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
