Titan men's basketball team drops Harcum in Monroe Classic

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team used a big second half to defeat Harcum College 102-82 in the Monroe Classic in New York Thursday afternoon.

The No. 4 ranked Titans had four players score in double figures as they reached the 100-point mark for the third time this season, outscoring Harcum 61-50 in the second half.

Kareem Brewton led the attack with 32 points and eight rebounds while Ahmed Ali added 24 points, four rebounds and four assists. Jhery Matos recorded his first double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Joan Duran had 11 points in the win as the Titans improved to 7-1 on the season.

"Proud of the guys for a great effort against an outstanding team," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "Harcum plays such a tough style to go against for 40 minutes of press and dribble drive offense. Gutty effort from our guys on the road."

Eastern Florida State College will face Baltimore City Community College at 3 p.m. Friday in the second day of the three-day tournament.
