Ahmed Ali named Region 8 Player of the Week

Eastern Florida State College men's basketball player Ahmed Ali was named the Region 8 Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

The freshman from Toronto, Canada has had a big first week with the Titans, averaging 20 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 rebounds per game through the first three games.

"He is such a special player, just thankful and grateful that he is on our team," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. "He is incredibly deserving of such an award."

 In his first collegiate game Ali had 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The men's basketball team will host St. Petersburg at Titan Field House Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then host Red Devil Academy at 2 pm. Saturday.
