Men's Basketball's C.J. Jackson Earns Second-Team All-America Honor

Eastern Florida's men's basketball point guard C.J. Jackson was named a second-team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Jackson, a Class of 2016 student from Charlotte, North Carolina and Montverde Academy earlier was named Southern Conference Player of the Year, the fourth straight Titan to be so honored, joining 2013 graduate Addison Spruill, 2014 graduate Torrance Rowe and 2015 graduate Kyle Meyer.

Spruill, Rowe and Meyer all moved on to NCAA Division I programs. Meyer was an honorable mention All-American for the 2014-15 season, the first All-America selection for head coach Jeremy Shulman.

Jackson also was named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week three times this past season and NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week once.

Jackson led the Titans in minutes played per game at 33.3; scoring at 16.9 points per game; assists at 4.4 per game; steals at 2.3; three-point percentage at 45.0; and free throw percentage, 73.4.

Jackson started all 32 games.

"What an amazing honor for C.J.," Shulman said. "He has put himself along the best players to ever wear an Eastern Florida or Brevard Community College uniform.

 

"It's so exciting for him to be named second-team All-American, the highest honor of any player I've coached here at Eastern Florida. He is an amazing kid with an amazing future in this game. "

 

The Titans won their fourth straight Southern Conference title, finishing 15-0. They were 27-5 overall and earned their second consecutive trip to the NJCAA Men's Division I National Basketball Championship tournament.
