Baseball team loses close game at baseball classic
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a close game in the seventh inning Sunday at the Visit Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic.
The Titans, who are now 6-2 overall, lost in the third-place game to Gulf Coast State College, 6-3.
Eastern Florida State College got on the board first as Jeff Davis hit a triple in the first inning and scored on Bo Tabola's groundout. They would add two more runs in the third inning as Jason Mack hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot over the left field wall.
It looked like they would add to the lead in the fourth inning but a good throw made a close play at the plate and Mack was called out to end the rally.
Gulf Coast State College would tie the game in the fifth inning with back-to-back home runs.
It would remain tied 3-3 until the seventh when Gulf Coast State College would score three times.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Palm Beach State College on Tuesday afternoon before hosting Polk State College Thursday evening at 5 p.m. Admission to Thursday's game at Bruce Bochy Field is free and you can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
