Baseball team faces Miami Dade on the road Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will wrap up the regular season Saturday in Miami.

The Titans will play Miami Dade College in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. Eastern Florida State College comes into the doubleheader 15-16 in the conference and two games out of a spot in the postseason.

On Thursday the Titans defeated Miami Dade College, who is in third place in the conference at 18-13, 14-6 in seven innings. Kevin Smith had a couple of three-run triples in the game and has a 10-game hitting streak and is now hitting .354 this season.

The Titans have won three in a row and will send Kenneth Robinson to the mound on Saturday in the first game of the doubleheader. Robinson comes into the matchup fourth in Region 8 with a 2.80 ERA.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the final day of the regular season tied for seventh in the conference standings but just two games out of fourth place. The Titans need to win both games and get some help to make their way into the postseason.
