Baseball team home Thursday for conference game on WEFS-TV

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will be home for the final time this season on Thursday afternoon.

The Titans will host Miami Dade College at 3 p.m. Thursday in a Citrus Conference game at Bruce Bochy Field. The game will be televised locally on WEFS-TV which is channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse and online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the final series of the season 14-16 in the conference and 23-23-1 overall. The three-game series begins Thursday with a doubleheader on Saturday at Miami Dade College.

The Titans are hitting .299 as a team this season led by Hector Mangual who will be playing in his final home game along with 12 other players on the roster. Mangual is hitting .357 this season with eight doubles. Teammate Kevin Smith comes into the final series hitting .341 this season.

Sophomore Zaylen Perry is scheduled to make his sixth start of the season for the Titans and has a 5.30 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings of work.

Miami Dade College is 27-22 overall and 18-12 in the conference this season and is led by D'Angelo Ortiz who is hitting .371 while teammate Carlos Jacome is hitting .317 with 14 doubles.
